Paulerspury Songwriting workshop for Young People

Come along to the URC in Paulerspury 28th and 29th May for some fun with friends! If you are aged 8-16, and interested in singing and writing your very own songs, then this is for you!

Amy Clayton, of ActuallyAmy Songwriting, in conjunction with the Paulerspury Players, will be running the workshop, which focusses on writing your own songs, with professional recording equipment and expert coaching. Mixed in will be some team building games and artwork to advertise and promote your songs, Amy can draw out your creative and expressive side over the two days with focus on lyrics writing in groups.

The workshop will run 9.30am-3.30pm each day and prices are at the competitive rate of £36 per young person for the 2 day workshop.

Here is some feedback from previous workshops:

“ My favorite thing about the music workshop was the fact that there was a proper microphone and music equipment which was good as we could hear ourselves, which was a first for me. I think the workshop was very good and I will hopefully be doing more, if I can. Thankyou!”
−    Izzy Tansley aged 14.

“I liked the fact that there was a theme, so it was great to be able to base the songwriting around it. It was also nice to work in a group, because then we can share our ideas.”
−    Niamh Collins aged 12.

“The workshop was fun, I enjoyed it”
−    Ethan Collins aged 11.

Summer workshop with the Paulerspury Players

I have a 5 day summer workshop booked with the Paulerspury Players taking place 13th-17th August!

Young people can come along for a week of fun and friendship, writing their own lyrics - these can be sang, rapped or just simply spoken.
They will also be preparing dance moves to songs. We are collaborating with a dance tutor to use street dance and other choreography to depict the theme chosen.

On the last day there will be a performance showcasing what they've been up to in the week. Friends and family are welcome to come along and watch!

The week will be fairly flexible where the young people will have a lot of control over which theme they'd like and how they'd like the choreography to look, with us there to help and support them where needed.

Come along and watch on 17th August to see all their hard work!

Olympics workshop booked

Lots of exciting news from AA HQ!

Olympics workshop booked in for June at a local C of E Primary school...
The children will be exploring some or all of the Olympic and Paralympic Values of: determination, courage, equality, inspiration, respect, friendship and excellence.

They will be writing a motivational song around these ideals, each group will work on a value for their own verse and come together as a class to decide on which value to use for the chorus.

The children will also be able to take ideas from the day to their sports day, and will have some motivations from the workshop to think about when going into their own races.

Next news bit soon! x
